Brief Description:  Engine plumbing

Before installing the firewall, I made a hole for the fuel line. I discovered I put it on the wrong side of the centerline. Made a new hole on the correct side. I drilled #40 then #30 pilot holes. Updrilled to 3/8" with a Unibit, then used a 1/2 conduit punch to make a hole approv 7/8" diameter. A 7/8" grommet has a snug ID for the fuel line.

I needed to shorten the premade Jegs 2-foot fuel line by about 2" to have a nice straight run with a slight slope to the AeroInjector. I removed one of the AN6 end fittings, cut the hose with my cutoff grinder, and re-installed the fitting. My first time doing one of those and seems to have come out OK.

Drilled the hole in the lower mounting bracket of the intake manifold. At AirVenture 2013 I noticed a Sonex that had the upper #1 spark plug lead resting on the bracket and appeared to have been chaffing and shorting to the bracket. I installed 2 layers of shrink tubing on my bracket for chaffing protection.

Mounted the exhaust manifold to check clearance on the throttle and mixture cable runs. Made a bracket to bolt to the engine to secure the cables clear of the exhaust.

I appears my plastic air/oil seperator drain hose is a bit closer to the exhaust than I like. I'll need to find a fitting to use a 3/8" aluminum tube for that.
